A medium sized family garden, much used for family gatherings and celebrations. The garden has been divided into 3 main areas, all of them are enveloped in lushly planted beds rich with texture and vibrant in colour.
The garden includes 2 areas for informal gatherings, and a defined area for a bbq and food preparation area. The main dinning area includes an outdoor fire, making the space suitable on autumn gatherings when the days turn cooler. A further area provides a space for privacy, currently shown with sun beds the space is flexible and can be turned to whatever takes the fancy on a given day.
Two Corten Steel containers ful-fill the purpose of space dividers and screening, the material brings a rich dark bronze colour to this garden. One planter is used as a water feature, the other is a planter. Similarly 3 evergreen hedges provide screening and provide the sense of envelopment in this city garden. The design itself is turned on a 45 degree angle, this makes the garden appear longer and conceals boundaries. A storage area is concealed at the rear of the garden, hidden by light-coloured rendered walls which themselves provide a backdrop to the rich planting and as evening falls, a surface on which the shadows dance.
